Heatherlie – retirement village Warrnambool has been providing quality independent and secure accommodation for seniors since 1979.

Situated in one of Victoria’s fastest growing regional centres, the beautiful seaside city of Warrnambool, Heatherlie offers 89 fully self-contained units at two sites, located at Koroit Street and Christ Church Close, Henna Street.

Positioned within the heart of Warrnambool’s central business district, the two individual community sites, provide the residents at Heatherlie with easy access to services, shopping and amenities.

Supported by a city which has outstanding health and aged care services, public and private hospitals, accessible specialist and medical services, excellent recreational and cultural facilities, as well as a comprehensive range of retail and food outlets, Heatherlie’s locality is a convenient and desirable address.

Heatherlie truly understands the meaning of community values, which are much appreciated and supported by all its residents.

The first of Heatherlie’s units were established in 1979 by the Warrnambool Parish Uniting Church, built on the commitment and passion of community people and their values.

The original independent living facilities were made possible through donations from the Warrnambool community and a financial grant matching the donation amount from the Federal Government.

Heatherlie Homes is managed by an honorary skills based council, management committees in all areas of need and with voluntary support from the people of Warrnambool and district.

Heatherlie is non-denominational and applicants are admitted according to their physical, financial and social needs.

Government regulations require applicants to be of pensionable age or permanently disabled.

All of Heatherlie’s residents are able to remain in their units for as long as they wish, but need to be able to live independently.

Residents pay an ingoing contribution and ongoing service fees annually determined by the Heatherlie Council.

The service fee covers: building maintenance and insurance, electricity and gas costs, council water and wastewater rates and waste removal.

On site staff are available to assist residents with any daily questions and advice.
