Heatherlie is overseen by a voluntary Board of Governance made up of Uniting Church members and elected members of the community. There are various committees who oversee different areas of Heatherlie such as Buildings & Grounds, Finance, Governance and House Management. 

Heatherlie employs two Executive Officers to oversee the day to day running and compliance of Heatherlie assisted by ancillary staff.
